im starting my first soccer game for york college tomorrow, im excited.
as a goalkeeper i have one of the most fun jobs ever. and if its done right, one of the most rewarding.
to be a college level goalkeeper you have to be willing to get in the way of the ball, this includes throwing your body around and sacrificing it to save the team.
sometimes life requires this to.
there are times in life where others need help, and you need to sacrifice for them.
i say "need" and not "could" because we have been given these bodies and lives by God for God.
if we spend our time helping others, it can be the most rewarding experiance. if we invest in people(especially people who arent considered "worth it") we will not be disapointed, because God will work through us.
i was one of "those people"
i was at a point in my life where i had given up hope, i was homeless. and i wanted to sit down and die.
mr ferber asked me one night after i picked myself back up and was satying with a friend, if i wanted to live with his family. he had never met me before that night.
i lived with his family for 1 month, and had started going to church. and at the end of the one month i made the decision to be baptized. i never before had wanted something so much.
and after i moved in with another family, who i was friends with their son. i began to think about my decision. i wasnt prepared, i wanted it but i didnt quite understand. and now i realize that God knew what i meant by it more than i do now. and he knows that i just want to be near him.
the whole reason im able to discuss this now, is because the ferbers and the hinkleys took that chance and made that invetment. and i will never let God down because of the sacrifices they made for me.
there is a parable in the bible about the sheep and the goats, and it has one of my favorite verses "what you have done for one of mine, you have done for me" (paraphrase).
Help people know God. Its a wondefull thing when you do.
A lot can change in 8 months.
